More HTML - Tables and Colors

Lesson Objectives:
  1. Create and use HTML tables in web pages
  2. Add colors by using HTML color codes in web pages
  3. Change color of table cells
  4. Learn how to manipulate tables, table cells, and colors to produce geometric patterns
Lesson Tasks:
  1. Read brief introduction to HTML colors
  2. Read brief introduction to HTML Tables
  3. View examples of some tables (use view, source to see HTML)
  4. Look at other examples in glossary (be sure you understand them!)
  5. Try the Display HTML page to view the results of your coding
  6. When you create one of the web pages below, save your codes to a file on your computer according to filenaming instructions. You will also paste your code into the form provided here.
  7. Turn in ONE of these (use submission form ) and email me a copy of the file. Using a text editor, produce one of patterns linked below which were created using just HTML tables and colors. For a real challenge, take the "Quilt Challenge". If you do this (quilt challenge, send it to me as an email attachment). Be sure to use the provided form for sending me your HTML code, as well as emailing the file to me. If you do not choose the quilt challenge, pick one of the following to create:
    1. Table design 2 - a calendar (change the month and date to reflect the current date)
    2. Table design 3 - your basic table with content in cells
    3. Table design 4 - another pattern to try!
    Note: Use form provided in lesson to submit your HTML tagged document.
  8. Save your work to your als3203 folder. Be sure to name the files according to instructions.
  9. Complete and submit Lesson Completion Certification
