Filenames and Paths (PC World)

Lesson Objectives:
  1. Learn the procedure for naming and saving files (Both PC and Mac users)
  2. Learn the meaning of PATH and how to use it in RUN window (PC users only)
  3. Learn how to find and open a file (have you ever saved a file but couldn't find it later?)
  4. Read and analyse a humorous poem - all users can relate to this one!
Lesson 3 Tasks:
  1. Name and save a file to your hard disk
  2. Locate and open your saved file
  3. Use Explorer to list directories, open files (PC users only)
  4. Read Edgar Allen Poe on Computers, fill out and submit discussion form related to poem
  5. Try(4 questions only) testing your understanding of paths (PC users will find this more relevant, but Mac Users shoyuld also give it a try.)
  6. Complete and submit Lesson Completion Certification
Lesson Resources:
  1. 3½" floppy diskette (hopefully you have a floppy drive), since some computers are now shipping without a floppy drive you may have to use your hard drive to do this.
  2. Glossary of lesson terms
  3. Sense of humor as you read the article
