Filenames and Paths (PC World)
Lesson Objectives:
- Learn the procedure for naming and saving files
(Both PC and Mac users)
- Learn the meaning of PATH and how to use it in
RUN window (PC users only)
- Learn how to find and open a file (have you ever saved a file but couldn't
find it later?)
- Read and analyse a humorous poem - all users can relate to this one!
Lesson 3 Tasks:
- Name and save a file to your hard disk
- Locate and open your saved file
- Use Explorer to list directories, open
files
(PC users only)
- Read Edgar Allen Poe on Computers, fill out and submit discussion form related to poem
- Try(4 questions
only) testing your understanding of paths (PC users will find this more relevant, but Mac Users shoyuld also give it a try.)
- Complete and submit Lesson Completion Certification
Lesson Resources:
- 3½" floppy diskette (hopefully you have a floppy drive), since some computers
are now shipping without a floppy drive you may have to use your hard drive
to do this.
